Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Works, David Umahi, for approving the rehabilitation of key federal roads in the state.

In a statement issued on Friday in Osogbo by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke specifically praised the approval of the Osogbo–Iwo–Ibadan road and the Gbongan–Akoda–Osogbo road.

“I received the news of the Federal Government, through the Federal Executive Council (FEC), approval of two key federal roads in Osun State. The rehabilitation of the Osogbo–Gbongan road and Osogbo–Iwo–Ibadan road will no doubt bring great relief and enhance the economic development of Osun State,” he said.

He recalled that during a working visit to Umahi on October 18, 2024, he had appealed for urgent federal intervention on the roads.

The governor applauded Tinubu and the works minister for what he described as their “listening ears” and pledged the support of the state government towards the successful execution of the projects.

Adeleke added that the development reinforced the state’s endorsement of Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing optimism for stronger collaboration with the Federal Government.
