Demonstrating his commitment to the development of Osun State’s infrastructure, Governor Ademola Adeleke personally inspected ongoing road and bridge projects in the state capital on Friday.
Accompanied by members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the governor praised the quality of work completed thus far and expressed confidence that the projects would be finished within the stipulated timeframe.
“I am not a governor who just sits in the office. While I have been monitoring the project from the Government House, I felt it was important to see it firsthand because I am eager to deliver results. I hope the contractors maintain this pace so we can commission the road on time.

“What they are doing here is commendable. In line with my campaign promise to develop a modern capital city, we will deliver on that promise. The contractor handling this project has proven capable of delivering quality roads and bridges across the designated areas. I am satisfied with the standard of work being done,” Adeleke stated.
He emphasized his administration’s focus on enhancing the state’s capital and delivering high-quality infrastructure projects to the people.
“We are determined to take Osun to greater heights. We are deeply committed to bridging the infrastructure gap in Osun State. We believe that economic growth and development are best achieved when the infrastructure sector is well-developed. Good infrastructure facilitates economic development and good governance,” he said.
The governor also acknowledged an award he received from the UK chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, dedicating it to the people of Osun State.
After inspecting the ongoing bridge construction at Oke-Fia, the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Mrs. Margret Oguntala, commended the governor for involving local engineers and employing Nigerian professionals in executing the projects.
“We are impressed that the governor prioritized local content by employing Nigerian engineers for the job. They will not disappoint the state. The project will be delivered on schedule,” Oguntala said.
The contractor overseeing the project, Engineer Dayo Eluyemi, reassured the public that the work being done adheres to global best practices.
“I can assure the people of the state that we are committed to delivering a quality and standard job. We are ensuring that the contractor follows the specifications provided. We are even conducting integrity tests on the piles to ensure we are delivering not just a job, but a quality project in line with global best practices. We will complete the work on time, as promised by the governor,” Eluyemi affirmed.
Earlier, members of the NSE, led by their president, visited the governor at the Government House in Osogbo and conducted inspections of ongoing projects within the state capital on Thursday.
