Governor Adeleke relaxes 24-hour curfew on Igbajo to 10 hours
— orders security personnel to remain on 24-hour guard, surveillance

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of the state to a 10-hour daily curfew.
The governor said the adjustment, which takes immediate effect, follows the gradual return of peace and order to the community.
The curfew was imposed after clashes erupted between loyalists of the late former APC chairman in Osun, Oba Gboyega Famodun, and supporters of the current monarch, Oba Ademola Makinde, when supporters of the deceased stormed the town’s market to shut it in his honour.
Adeleke announced that the curfew will now run from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily until full normalcy is restored.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the governor condemned the unrest that necessitated the initial 24-hour lockdown and urged residents to allow peace to return.
Adeleke added that security personnel, including the Army, Police, DSS, and NSCDC, will remain on 24-hour surveillance in Igbajo until total peace is achieved and formally acknowledged.
He called on residents to embrace calm and unity as efforts continue to stabilise the community.
“As a government under my watch, I reiterate my strong belief in and commitment to restoring all activities that will ensure a return to peace and orderliness, not only in Igbajo but throughout my dear state, Osun,” the governor added.
