Governor Aiyedatiwa pays tribute to late Ondo SSG, Temitayo Oluwatuyi

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has described the late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, as a dedicated public servant whose life was marked by service, leadership, and community development.

Speaking at the outing and thanksgiving service held in Oluwatuyi’s honor at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Akure, on Saturday, Governor Aiyedatiwa reflected on the inevitability of death, quoting Ecclesiastes 3:2 and Job 14:5 to emphasize that life’s course is determined by divine will.

Acknowledging the profound loss, the Governor urged the congregation to find solace in the late politician’s impactful life and contributions.

“Hon. Oluwatuyi, fondly called Tuykana, has paid his own debt. His contributions to the development of Ondo State and grassroots politics were remarkable.

“He was a compassionate leader who worked tirelessly to uplift those around him. His unwavering commitment to public service earned him the love and respect of his people,” Aiyedatiwa said.

Describing the late Oluwatuyi as a political stalwart and unifying figure, the Governor highlighted his extensive service to the state, including roles as local government chairman, commissioner for natural resources, and twice as Secretary to the State Government. He recalled their time working together, emphasizing Oluwatuyi’s wisdom, leadership, and ability to unite people for the common good.

“His passing leaves a huge void, but as we celebrate his legacy, we must remember his dedication to the growth and progress of Ondo State. His legacy should inspire us all to serve with integrity, compassion, and excellence,” he added.

Delivering the sermon titled Prepare to Meet Your Appointment with Your Maker,” the President of the Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Henry Ojo, highlighted the certainty of death and the need for spiritual preparedness. He stressed that regardless of status, wealth, or background, every human faces an ultimate appointment with God.

In an emotional vote of thanks, the deceased’s daughter, Mrs. Jumoke Adeola, expressed deep gratitude to all who supported the family during their period of grief.

She particularly appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ondo State Government, political and religious leaders, and well-wishers for their prayers and presence.

Following the service, attendees proceeded to a grand reception at the International Event Center, The Dome, in Akure. Earlier in the day, Oluwatuyi’s remains were laid to rest at his residence in Akure.
