Governor Fintiri says PDP reforms position party for 2027 elections

By Kunle Sanni –

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is revitalised and strategically positioned ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to a report by The Cable on Sunday, Fintiri, who spoke with journalists on Saturday during the party’s state congress in Yola, said the PDP was undergoing reforms aimed at restoring public trust and confidence.

“We are trying to give birth to a new PDP where everyone will believe, trust and have confidence in. We are really positioned, and we are ready for 2027,” the governor said.

Fintiri described the congress as transparent and fair, adding that the high turnout of party members reflected renewed faith in the PDP. He noted that the new state executives, elected to serve for the next four years, would play a key role in strengthening the party’s structures.

“We know them and we have confidence in them. They have experience in party politics, and we believe they will lead us well as we work towards 2027. By God’s will, we will get there and produce another good government, just as we have experienced in the last eight years,” he added.

Also speaking, Golfa Mallim, a House of Representatives aspirant for Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency, congratulated the new executives and expressed confidence in their leadership. She described the newly elected chairman, Hamza Madagali, as a “man of the people” with a vision for grassroots development.

“This is a memorable moment for us in the PDP. Alhaji Madagali has passion, love and dedication for the growth of the party at all levels. His leadership would guarantee a stronger PDP capable of reclaiming more political seats in 2027,” Mallim said.

She further urged party members to embrace unity and reconciliation to strengthen the PDP ahead of the next polls.
