Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians in the state and across Nigeria, urging them to live in love, harmony, and peace with their neighbours.
In a message released on Thursday, the governor described Christmas as a season of love, emphasising that the birth of Jesus Christ embodies the essence of the festival.
He encouraged residents to demonstrate compassion and peaceful coexistence in line with Christian teachings.
Makinde also called on residents to remain vigilant during the festive season, noting that security is a shared responsibility between the government and the public.
He urged people to report suspicious activities through the Oyo State Citizen Emergency Number, 615, reminding them of the principle: “If you see something, say something.”
The governor also wished all Christians and residents of Oyo State a Merry Christmas and a joyful festive season.
