Governor Oyebanji appoints Justice Ogunmoye as Acting CJ of Ekiti
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has appointed Justice Lekan Adekanye Ogunmoye as the Acting Chief Judge of the state, effective November 5, 2024. This decision follows the passing of the former Chief Judge, Justice John Oyewole Adeyeye, on November 4, 2024.
The appointment, in line with Section 271 (4) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), marks a new chapter for the judiciary in Ekiti State.
Governor Oyebanji expressed confidence in Justice Ogunmoye’s capabilities and extended his best wishes for a successful tenure in the role.
Justice Ogunmoye, born on November 6, 1963, brings a wealth of experience to the position.
A seasoned legal professional, he was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987 and has served as a judge since April 1, 2010.
