Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has signed the ₦415.57bn 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, giving legal backing to the state’s spending plan for the coming fiscal year.

The signing took place at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti, where the governor also assented to two other bills passed by the House of Assembly.

The additional legislation are the Ekiti State Revenue Administration Bill, 2025, and the Ekiti State College of Technology, Ijero Bill, 2025.

Governor Oyebanji said the 2026 budget, tagged the “Budget of Sustainable Governance,” earmarked 53 per cent for recurrent expenditure and 47 per cent for capital projects.

“I am delighted to sign into law three important legislations that are critical to the continuous realisation of our shared prosperity agenda,” the governor said.

He explained that the budget would help consolidate the gains recorded by his administration since assumption of office in October 2022, noting that it prioritises project completion, food security, wealth creation and infrastructure.

The governor also assured residents that his administration would intensify revenue generation efforts and remain committed to programmes aimed at improving living standards across the state.
