The 36 state governors have reaffirmed their commitment to working with the Federal Government, the World Bank and other development partners to ensure the successful implementation of the NG-CARES Additional Financing, SOLID and HOPE programmes.

The assurance was given on Thursday by the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, during the presidential launch of the programmes. He was represented at the event by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Speaking on behalf of the governors, AbdulRazaq described the initiatives as major pillars of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He said the programmes would strengthen governance, improve public service delivery, build human capital and support vulnerable households across the country.

He added that the launch marked another important step toward translating the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible benefits for Nigerians. According to him, ongoing economic reforms must create better opportunities, strengthen institutions and promote greater prosperity for citizens.

Furthermore, AbdulRazaq said the programmes reflected the shared commitment of the Federal Government, state governments and development partners to promote accountability, strengthen institutions and improve the resilience of states through targeted investments.

He also commended the World Bank for its continued support, noting that the partnership had improved public financial management, expanded social protection programmes, increased agricultural productivity and strengthened institutional capacity across the states.

According to the NGF chairman, the governors remain focused on building strong institutions capable of sustaining inclusive economic growth, improving service delivery and enhancing the capacity of states to respond to development challenges. He said these goals align with Nigeria’s long-term development aspirations.

He assured that all 36 governors would continue to collaborate with the Federal Government and development partners to ensure the programmes achieved their objectives. AbdulRazaq also praised President Tinubu for advancing reforms anchored on collaboration, institutional development and the welfare of Nigerians.
