Group joins nationwide protest on October 1 in Osun
…demands good governance, economic relief

The Coalition of Concerned Nigerian Citizens in Osun State has announced its participation in a nationwide peaceful protest, dubbed “Fearless Protest 2.0,” to demand good governance, economic relief, and accountability from the Federal and State Governments.
The protest, scheduled for October 1, 2024, is tagged “National Day of Survival.”
Addressing journalists in Osogbo on Monday, the coordinator of the coalition, Comrade Adetunji Ajala, cited the Federal Government’s failure to address demands made during the previous #EndBadGovernance protest in August.
Ajala noted that Nigerians continue to suffer from rising fuel prices, food costs, and insecurity.
He said: “Since the End Bad Governance 1.0, the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has shown no willingness to listen to the demands of the citizens. Instead of alleviating the suffering of the people, the government has worsened hunger and hardship in Nigeria.
“The current administration has ignored peaceful calls to address the fuel price hike and the hunger many Nigerians are enduring. This has made another protest necessary.
“The PBAT-led government, instead of easing people’s suffering, has increased the price of petroleum, raised the cost of commodities, and made housing more expensive, while the new minimum wage is yet to be implemented in many states.”
The coalition urged all Nigerians, particularly Osun State citizens, to join the peaceful protest, emphasizing that it is their inalienable right to demand better governance.
The group also warned against any form of violence or destruction, stressing that the protest aims to promote peaceful and constructive engagement.
