Group passes vote of confidence in Sanwo-Olu

A group, the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) has expressed strong support for Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, commending his efforts to empower youths through various initiatives and programmes.

YAN at its South West caucus meeting held in Lagos, themed “The Role of Youths in Nation Building: The Spirit of Lagos,” the National Speaker of the group, Olusegun Famuyibo, stated that Lagos has become a model for other states in youth engagement, fostering peace and unity.

“We are pleased with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership in Lagos, as he continues to commission projects, develop new infrastructure, and prioritize youth empowerment. These initiatives are deserving of recognition,” Famuyibo stated.

He also praised the governor for appointing a dedicated and hardworking youthful commissioner, Mobolaji Ogunlende, as Commissioner for Youths, affirming the group’s vote of confidence in Sanwo-Olu’s leadership.

Famuyibo also acknowledged the efforts of the Minister of Youths and Social Development in improving the ministry, calling for collaboration between the ministry and the group on youth-focused programs.

The group urged President Bola Tinubu to address the rising cost of consumable goods in the country, reaffirming its continued support for government initiatives aimed at benefiting youths.

“As youth leaders, we remain committed to promoting peace and unity across Nigeria, regardless of tribe, religion, or ethnicity,” Famuyibo added.

Oluwatobi Oladepo, the Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties to Governor Sanwo-Olu, reassured the group of the state government’s commitment to youth development.
