Gunmen attack vehicle, injure four passengers in Osun

Four passengers were injured on Sunday in an attack on a vehicle by unknown gunmen along old Ila-Orangun/Ijabe road in Osun State.
The gunmen reportedly attacked the vehicle, which was conveying passengers to Ijabe community in Odo-Otin Local Government of the state from Ila-Orangun.
A passerby, who witnessed the attack quickly informed men of the Western Security Network (Amotekun) who immediately moved to the scene to repel the attackers.
The Field Commandant of Osun Amotekun, Amitolu Shittu, who confirmed the incident, said one of the suspects was arrested at the scene after a fierce gun battle.
“One of the gunmen was arrested by our men while the four passengers that were attacked are currently receiving treatment,” he said.
The Amotekun commander warned hoodlums to steer clear of the state or be ready to face the full weight of the law.
He also appealed to the general public to always report suspicious movement of persons to relevant security agencies for necessary action.
