Gunmen kidnap ex-AIG Odumosu’s wife in Ogun

Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that gunmen have abducted the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, from her residence in the Arepo area of Ogun State.

The command disclosed that the incident occurred at about 9:55pm on Thursday, 16 January, 2025 when the woman was about to enter her home when the masked men attacked and dragged her from her Lexus jeep.

The Command Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the development to The PUNCH Online, said  Mrs Odumosu was taken through swampy areas to an unknown location.

According to Odutola, upon the information, the Divisional Police Officer of the Warewa Division led a team of officers to the scene and a search is currently ongoing.

 “Approximately 9:55 pm, information was received regarding the kidnapping of Mrs Odumosu, a female resident of Aminu Street, Orange Estate, Arepo, Ogun State.

“Reports indicate that she was about to enter her home when four masked men attacked her, dragged her from her Lexus jeep and took her through the swampy areas to an unknown location,” the state police image-maker said.

“The divisional police officer has led a team of policemen to the scene where they are currently searching for the swampy bush area.

“The CP, Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, has been briefed, and all covert operations have been deployed to assist with digital intelligence to ensure she is rescued unhurt.”

Odutola added that the local chiefs of Warewa and Maaba had been approached to deploy local security outfits to assist in the search effort.
