Gunmen kill soldier, one other in Ondo, kidnap expatriate

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a soldier by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers who also abducted an expatriate, identified as Wali Duo.

Duo, a construction contractor was allegedly abducted along Alafia junction in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

Western post gathered that the driver of the expatriate was also killed during the incident.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami who confirmed the development to Westernpost, explained that the incident happened on Wednesday evening 

She said: “Two gunmen attacked the Lebanese, killing the soldier that was guiding him and also killed his driver. They also went away with him and his Hilux vehicle.”

The police image maker said the kidnappers were yet to make any demand for ransom.

The Public Relations Officer of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, could not be reached as calls to his line didn’t go through.
