Gunmen kill three, abduct 12-year-old girl in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed two incidents of violent crime that occurred in the early hours of June 25, 2025, in Patigi Local Government Area of the state.

At about 1:30 a.m., unknown armed men attacked Mari and Lile villages via Lade, killing three persons: Timothy Paul (male, 35) in Mari village, and Alhaji Abdullahi Shehu (male, 51) along with his son, Abdullahi Muhammad (male, 22) in Lile village. Their deaths were confirmed by a medical doctor at a hospital.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, on Wednesday in Ilorin.

According to the statement, investigations are ongoing to apprehend those behind the heinous acts, after which prosecution will follow.

In a separate incident at about 3:00 a.m., four armed men invaded Aiyetoro Fulani Camp and abducted a 12-year-old girl, Hassana Abdullahi, daughter of Mr. Abdullahi Jowuro. The police disclosed that the crime scene was secured and documented.

In response, joint tactical teams comprising police operatives, vigilantes, and local hunters have been deployed to conduct bush combing and rescue operations.

The Police Command reassured residents of its commitment to public safety and urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly.
