Gunmen storm farm in Oyo, abduct two IBEDC staff

Gunmen have abducted two staff members of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in Oyo State.
The incident occurred on the 29th of April at Sayeed Farms in Olohunde Village, along Ogunmakin, when the attackers struck at about 2:00 p.m.
The victims were identified as Seun Bakare and Idris Salami. A third worker, Bisola Owoade, who was initially taken alongside them, was later released by the gunmen.
According to reports, the IBEDC officials visited the farm to carry out meter reading when they were attacked.
The assailants reportedly asked for the farm manager before targeting the workers after noticing their vehicle.
Sources also indicated that the kidnappers have contacted the victims’ families and demanded a ransom of N300 million.
Police authorities in Oyo State confirmed the abduction, noting that security operatives, in collaboration with other agencies and local vigilantes, have launched a search operation in nearby bushes.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola, has directed that the case be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, while assuring that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims safely.
