Suspected political thugs have disrupted the local government congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction loyal to the ex-Governor Nyesom Wike, in Oyo State.

According to reliable sources, the PDP in Oyo State is currently divided into two factions, with one aligned to Wike and the other loyal to Governor Seyi Makinde.

As earlier scheduled, the congresses of the Wike-led faction were set to hold on Saturday; however, events quickly turned ugly when hoodlums allegedly attacked members during the proceedings across multiple locations, causing panic among participants.

Western Post confirmed that about ten people were reportedly injured, and several vehicles vandalised in the process.

Professor Abdulrahman Akinoso, the chairman of the faction loyal to Mr. Wike, confirmed the attacks, revealing that the incidents occurred in several places, including Ibadan North, Ogbomoso North, Ibarapa Central, and Akinyele.

Professor Akinoso further disclosed that three vehicles were vandalised at the House of a party chieftain in Bodija, while at least ten people have been injured so far across the state.

At the moment, no law enforcement agency, including the Oyo State Police Command has addressed the issue.
