House Sports Committee Chairman Amadu hails Super Eagles’ victory over Rwanda

Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu, has congratulated the Super Eagles and the Ibrahim Gusau-led Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on their well-deserved victory, which has reignited Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Honourable Amadu, who represents the Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, urged the players to remain focused on the remaining qualifiers, particularly the crucial Matchday 6 fixture against Zimbabwe in Uyo.
Speaking on the victory, Amadu, fondly called “Mai Palace,” said:
“I want to congratulate the NFF and the Super Eagles for securing this vital win in Kigali. During their budget defense at the National Assembly, the NFF assured us that they would do everything possible to ensure Nigeria does not miss the World Cup back-to-back.
“Today, with this 2-0 victory, that promise is beginning to take shape. However, it is not over yet. The players and officials must remain focused until all the remaining matches are won.”
With this victory, the 2013 African champions now have six points from five games. South Africa currently leads Group C with 10 points after a 2-0 win over Lesotho earlier in the day. Benin Republic, following a 2-2 draw with Zimbabwe, sits second with eight points, while Rwanda is third with seven points from five matches.
