Hundreds of young athletes shine at Lagos Kids Mini-Marathon 2025

The Lagos Kids Mini-Marathon 2025, a flagship sporting initiative that continues to set the standard for children’s athletics in Nigeria, was held today at Orange Island, Ikoyi, drawing hundreds of young participants who showcased remarkable determination and athletic skill.
The marathon featured age-appropriate competitions, including 1K walks and 1.5K runs for children aged 4-5 years, 3K runs for ages 6-12, and 5K runs for teenagers aged 13-15. In a nod to its family-oriented approach, the event also included a 5K adult category, enabling parents and guardians to run alongside their children and promote intergenerational fitness.

He added that the marathon aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of providing opportunities for children to explore their abilities and build confidence in a supportive environment.
The event was further highlighted by the presence of several notable personalities who continue to inspire young athletes.
