I am in Nigeria, not on the run, Malami responds to rumours of EFCC invitation

Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has responded to rumours suggesting that he left the country in order to evade an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In an interview with Daily Trust, Malami addressed the speculations, dismissing them as baseless and affirming his commitment to Nigeria.

“I have not been invited by the EFCC or any other anti-corruption agency in Nigeria. “I am available in Nigeria, and today I will be attending a wedding Fatiha scheduled for 2.30 pm at Sheikh Isiyaka Rabi’u Mosque in Kano,” he said.

The former Attorney General made it clear that he has no intention of leaving Nigeria, and he expressed his willingness to honor any invitation extended to him by any government agency.

“I’m a true Nigerian, and I believe in the Nigerian project.

“I will make myself available to Nigeria and its institutions upon their demand,” added.
