‘I want to create stories that last’ — Ini Edo

By Tosin Brown –
Popular actress Ini Edo says her current challenge is finding ways to create lasting memories for movie fans, having remained relevant in Nollywood for over two decades.
In a recent interview, the actress expressed gratitude for her continued relevance but admitted feeling concerned that audiences still heavily reference her early work.
“It is very humbling and equally very troubling that many people are still referencing old Nollywood movies that I acted in. I have done over 300 films, yet everybody seems to be stuck on a movie from like 20 years ago,” she said.
She noted that while today’s productions are of high quality, the stories from her earlier career appear to have left a deeper imprint on fans.
“It’s just to say that for some reason, real movie lovers are unable to let go of the memories of those days,” she added.
Ini Edo concluded by saying her goal now is to create new works that will resonate just as powerfully and stand the test of time for another 20 years.
