Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has announced that he will not be attending the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting scheduled for Tuesday at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, with President Bola Tinubu.
El-Rufai disclosed this during an interview with Arise TV on Monday, where he also addressed speculation about his absence from President Tinubu’s ministerial cabinet.
“I will not be attending Tuesday’s APC caucus meeting with President Tinubu at Aso Rock,” El-Rufai stated, without providing further details on his decision.
He explained that he would be traveling to Cairo, Egypt, where he has been staying for the past few weeks.
The announcement comes amid ongoing tensions following El-Rufai’s claims that his exclusion from Tinubu’s cabinet was not due to rejection by the National Assembly. He has also remained critical of the Tinubu administration.
The former governor was also recently seen with Atiku Abubakar, a former presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
