The Association of Ibadan Traditional Baales has paid a condolence visit to the Olubadan Palace following the passing of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), the late Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Speaking on behalf of the Baales, Baale (Alhaji) Bashiru Adisa of Kinabi village in Ido Local Government Area expressed their sorrow over the monarch’s demise, describing the late Olubadan as a disciplined, courageous, and peace-loving ruler who left a remarkable legacy.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan and incoming monarch, was Oba Salawudeen Amidu Ajibade, the Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland. He welcomed the Baales and some Mogajis present at the palace and appealed for their full support as the new Olubadan prepares to ascend the throne.

Oba Ajibade emphasized the importance of unity and peace in Ibadanland. He urged traditional leaders to avoid actions that could damage the image of the Olubadan institution or disrupt harmony in the city.

In his opening remarks, Senior Chief Lekan Alabi, the Maye Olubadan, called on all sons, daughters, and residents of Ibadanland to contribute meaningfully to the growth and progress of the land. He urged them to prioritize unity, development, and collective progress.

The condolence meeting was attended by members of the Olubadan Advisory Council, high chiefs, Mogajis, Baales, and the Iyaloja of Ibadanland, Chief (Mrs.) Oyinlola Iswat Abiola Ameringun, among other notable personalities.
