Ibadan Polo Club kicks off 2025/2026 season with Captains Cup
The Ibadan Polo Club is gearing up to launch the 2025/2026 polo season with the highly anticipated Captains Cup, set to take place on September 6 and 7, 2025, at the Ibadan Polo Club Grounds on Eleyele Road, Ibadan.
This prestigious tournament promises to deliver two days of exhilarating polo action, drawing top players and enthusiasts from across Nigeria to the vibrant city of Ibadan.
The 2025 Captains Cup will feature six competitive teams, showcasing some of the finest polo talent from Ibadan, Lagos, and Kano Polo Clubs. Among the standout players are Ahmed Umar of Ibadan Polo Club (IPC), rated at +3; Dantala Ibrahim of Lagos Polo Club (LPC), also rated at +3; and Habib Buhari of Kano Polo Club (KPC), rated at +2.
Their skills and strategic prowess are expected to elevate the tournament’s intensity, captivating spectators with fast-paced matches and remarkable displays of horsemanship.
Matches are scheduled to commence at 3:00 p.m. daily, offering a thrilling spectacle for both seasoned polo fans and newcomers alike.
