The Olubadan designate, Lekan Balogun, Alliwo Okunmade ll, has said that Ibadan will no longer sell its chieftaincy title.
The incoming monarch, however, said the curriculum vitae of chiefs and traditional rulers would henceforth be considered before appointing them.
The Olubadan designate in an exclusive interview with Westernpost at his Alarere resident, Ibadan, said the development is aimed at ensuring that people with high integrity are appointed as chiefs and traditional rulers in Ibadan in order to set the system right.
According to him, the system would be more interested in the CV and family history of Ibadan chiefs and traditional rulers before their appointment into office for upward improvement.
Balogun appealed to sons and daughters of Ibadan land to be patient, adding that the new regime will make all the difference by the virtue of experience.
“The new regime will be fair to its citizens, so I enjoin you all to cooperate with the the new regime,” he said.
