If indeed you love me, then vote for Oyebanji on Saturday, Tinubu tells Ekiti people

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, solicited votes and support for the party’s governorship candidate in Saturday’s Ekiti gubernatorial election, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, describing him as a thoroughbred Ekiti man, with requisite experience in administration and governance.
Asiwaju Tinubu, who spoke at the mega rally held to galvanise support for the APC candidate said Ekiti people should demonstrate the love they have for him by voting massively for Oyebanji on Saturday.
“If indeed you love me, please demonstrate that love by voting massively for Oyebanji, our candidate on Saturday.”, Asiwaju Tinubu said, adding that he had demonstrated his love for Ekiti by giving his eldest child in marriage to an Ekiti man.
The party presidential flag bearer also used the opportunity to call on party members who are aggrieved to sheath their swords and allow peace to reign for the progress of the party.
“There is no home where they don’t quarrel. We will have conflict in-and-out but we will not spoil the house we have built over the years. I won’t be part of it. I am a leader and a successful one,” Asiwaju Tinubu said.
In their addresses to the crowd of supporters, National Chairman of the party, Senator. Abdullahi Adamu, Chairman, APC Campaign Council and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and 13 other governors of the ruling party also described Oyebanji as the best person to lead Ekiti for now.
Adamu expressed his delight and surprise over the mammoth crowd, who were there to show their solidarity support for Mr. Oyebanji and APC, which he described as first of its kind since the party have been having its campaign in Ekiti State.
Speaking about the qualification and experience of Oyebanji and the need for him to sustain the good work being done by Governor Kayode Fayemi, the National Chairman expressed optimism that Saturday’s governorship election is going to be an easy ride for the party.
Adamu described the election as crucial and a major determinant for the party’s victory in next year’s general election.
“I have been coming to Ekiti for campaigns since my PDP days but I have never witnessed this type of crowd before. This is an indication of the support you have for the party’s governorship flag bearer.
“I have heard people talk about Abiodun Oyebanji, I have listened to him talk and I have gone through his rich profile. I don’t expect anything less from someone aspiring to lead a state like Ekiti. Beyond the need to elect him and support him to consolidate on Governor Fayemi’s achievement, Oyebanji’s election on Saturday is important to our great party because it will open the door for the 2023 elections. This is our first outing; it is our hope and prayer that we record a total victory,.” Adamu said.
Governor of Ekiti state, Dr John Kayode Fayemi who is the chief host, called on party members to show their solidarity support to the party’s flagbearer on Saturday with their massive votes.
The climax of the mega rally was the presentation of the party’s flag to Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji by the National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Iyiola Omisore and other leaders.
