The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (IILCDA) in Lagos State, Comrade Lasisi Akinsanya, has inaugurated two road projects to mark the 356th day of his second term in office.
The projects, located at Itoki Road, Ikotun, and Olanrewaju Yekini/Rabiat Akinsanya Road, Egan, were commissioned on Wednesday in the presence of the Olukotun of Ikotun Land, Oba Asiwaju Gbadabiu, and the Alakesan of Akesan Kingdom, Oba Nurudeen Abidemi.

The event was also attended by council executives, councillors, Igando/Ikotun All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts and members, as well as community leaders.
Speaking at the commissioning, Akinsanya attributed the projects to resources generated through taxation and allocations from the Federal Government following the removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu, describing the roads as part of the gains of the policy.

He commended Tinubu for his economic reforms and urged Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections, saying, “When people ask about the gains of the fuel subsidy removal policy of President Bola Tinubu, we show them that these projects are part of the gains.”
Akinsanya added, “It is the taxes and, majorly, the allocations from the Federal Government that we are using to execute these projects. That is why I want Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Tinubu for a second term. He has done well for the country.”

He also praised the NELFUND student loan scheme, urging Nigerians to support Tinubu for continuity. He said the initiative had provided tertiary students with access to loans online, describing it as a laudable policy.
The council chairman further urged residents to vote for all APC candidates, including the party’s Lagos State governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, whom he described as an experienced public administrator.
The two monarchs commended Akinsanya for the projects, describing their execution as speedy and commendable. They urged residents to make proper use of the roads and protect the facilities from damage, stressing that the projects belonged to the communities.
