Ignore APC rumours, I won’t relocate varsity, Segun Oni assures Ikere people

Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State. Mr. Segun Oni, has told the people of Ikere to ignore the rumours being spread around that he plans to relocate the newly established Bamidele Olumilua University of Education and Technology once he becomes governor again.
Oni through his campaign spokesman, Jackson Adebayo decried the rumours and said it was the handiwork of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains who are afraid of iminent defeat.
The rumour had alleged that Segun Oni had a closed-door meeting with Ifaki Progressive Union where he told his people that he would relocate the University in Ikere to Ifaki as governor and return the school in Ikere to its original College of Education.
It would be recalled that Segun Oni as governor had running battles with Ikere people in 2008 over the College of Education that led to violent protests for days.
Describing the current rumours as wicked machinations of APC, the campaign organisation said: “Oni is a progressive and forward-looking man who doesn’t have a destructive mind of the APC-led government. “If Fayemi has destroyed all the good education plans he put on ground for the Ekiti people before he was removed courtesy the Salamigate, he will not act like him if he becomes the governor of the state.”
The spokesman said that the APC was already overwhelmed with fear of defeat and their is no going back because Ekiti people have really understood who they are.
The SDP candidate therefore assured Ikere people of more developmental programmes from his government.
He urged them and all Ekiti people to come out enmass to vote for him.
