IGP Egbetokun attends EAPCCO Annual General Meeting in Kigali

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Annual General Meeting.

The conference, which runs from January 28 to January 31, 2025, brings together law enforcement leaders and stakeholders from around the world to discuss strategies for combating terrorism and transnational organized crime.

IGP Egbetokun, who also serves as the Chairperson of the West Africa Police Chiefs Committee (WAPCCO), is accompanied by senior police officials, including the Commissioner of Police (CP) for Interpol, Olaolu Adegbite.

During the conference, the IGP will engage with other law enforcement representatives to exchange insights on improving public safety and addressing emerging criminal threats.

His agenda includes showcasing Nigeria’s ongoing efforts in intelligence sharing, capacity building, and community-oriented policing.

The EAPCCO Annual General Meeting serves as a vital platform for African police chiefs to review operational policies, discuss collaborative initiatives, and adopt resolutions to improve international policing.

The IGP’s presence is expected to further solidify Nigeria’s role in regional security and foster stronger ties with law enforcement agencies across Africa.
