IGP Egbetokun decorates new DIG, announces strategic postings to enhance policing efficiency

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has officially decorated Jonathan Towuru as Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG).

The ceremony, held at the Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, marks a key moment in the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.

Following his promotion, DIG Towuru has been assigned to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID). The IGP stated that the posting is aimed at boosting the department’s role in advancing efficient and effective policing across the nation.

With his extensive experience and a track record of exemplary service, DIG Towuru is expected to strengthen the FCID’s capacity to handle complex criminal investigations and improve crime management.

In a further effort to enhance security and public safety, the IGP announced the deployment of two senior officers as Commissioners of Police. CP Miller Gajere Dantawaye has been posted to Kogi State, while CP Betty Enekpen Otimenyin will assume leadership in Edo State. These strategic appointments, the IGP noted, are designed to reinforce the Police Force’s operational efficiency and ensure the protection of citizens.

IGP Egbetokun emphasized the critical role of leadership in effective policing and expressed confidence in the ability of the newly posted officers to lead with integrity and professionalism.

He reiterated the Force’s commitment to maintaining public order, upholding justice, and serving communities with dedication.
