Ikorodu City stun Warri Wolves in Ozoro as Abia derby ends goalless

By Tosin Omojola –
Ikorodu City of Lagos produced a stunning performance on matchday twelve of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), beating hosts Warri Wolves 2-0 in Ozoro.
The Lagosians finished the job early, scoring both goals in the first half of the encounter played in Ozoro.
The Abia derby between Abia Warriors and Enyimba FC of Aba produced no winner, as the two sides battled to a goalless draw — a result that may have eventually saved People’s Elephant gaffer, Stanley Eguma, from losing his job.
Kwara United of Ilorin continued their splendid form as they held Nasarawa United to a 1-1 draw in Lafia, while Kano Pillars continued to struggle, being held to a scoreless draw by visiting Bayelsa United.
Wikki Tourists of Bauchi pipped Niger Tornadoes of Minna 1-0, while at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, Chigozie Iwundu’s 27th-minute goal was enough to earn Rangers International all three points at the expense of Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
On Saturday, Katsina United and Barau FC settled for a 1-1 draw in a match marred by crowd violence.
Three matches are on the cards on Monday to round off matchday twelve pairings, with Plateau United hosting Bendel Insurance, Kun Khalifat facing Rivers United, and Remo Stars taking on El-Kanemi Warriors.
