Ilaro monarch presides over formal installation of new Obas in Yewaland

In line with the provisions of the 2021 Obas Law of Ogun State and the approval by the Ogun State government, the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and Chairman of the State’s Council of Obas, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Olugbenle, has presided over the formal installation rites of newly crowned kings under the jurisdiction of the Yewa Traditional Council.
The ceremony, held at the Yewa Traditional Council Complex in Ilaro-Yewa, witnessed a large turnout as the newly installed Coronet Obas were accompanied by sons and daughters of their respective communities clad in traditional attire, singing and dancing in honour of their monarchs.
The Paramount Ruler formally received and welcomed some of the new Obas into the Council. Symbols of authority were handed over to them, and prayers were offered for their peaceful reign, signifying their official induction and recognition by the Council and the State Government.


The seven Coronet Obas installed during the ceremony were:
1. Oba Gabriel Ogunyomi, Onimoto of Imoto-Yewa, Yewa North LG
2. Oba Olatunde Olaore, Alaje of Ajerogun Oresha-Yewa, Ado Odo area.
3. Oba Abdulkabir Odewale, Onidiota of Idiota-Yewa. Ado odo area.
4. Oba Pascal Adewale Olorode, Alagbede of Oke Agbede Yewa. Imeko Afon LG.
5. Oba Yaya Tiamiyu, Olokobaba of Okobaba-Yewa, Yewa South LG
6. Oba Oje Oladokun, Olohunbe of Ohunbe-Yewa. Yewa North LG
7. Oba Jimoh Ajani, Olobada of Obada-Owo-Yewa. Imeko Afon LG

Prior to their installation, the newly promoted Oloja of Oja-Odan, Oba Engr. Oyebanji Olowobese, who was elevated from Coronet Oba to Part II status, was formally introduced and fully admitted as a permanent member of the Yewa Traditional Council.

Oba Olugbenle congratulated the new kings and extended his best wishes as they take up the sacred responsibility of guiding the affairs of their people with wisdom and unity.
