I’ll be fulfilled if Ibadan State is created — Ladoja

Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has said that the creation of Ibadan State would be the greatest fulfilment of his life and reign.

Speaking at his Bodija residence on Tuesday while receiving Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the former Oyo State governor noted that the demand for Ibadan State was long overdue, stressing that the city’s 11 local government areas make it qualified for state status.

“Beyond other achievements in life, what remains for me is the actualisation of Ibadan State. I want this to happen during my reign as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he said, adding that stakeholders were already working towards the goal.

In his remarks, Governor Adeleke congratulated Ladoja on his nomination and approval as the next Olubadan, describing him as a “man of destiny” who has shown resilience through his political journey as senator, governor, and now monarch.

“You have weathered many storms and emerged stronger. That resilience is the reason for your enduring achievements,” Adeleke said.
