I’ll have stomach infrastructure minister, Fayose assures after picking PDP presidential form

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, said he would have a minister for stomach infrastructure if elected Nigeria’s president in 2023.

Fayose made this known when he picked his expression of interest and nomination forms for the presential election primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.

The two-time Ekiti State governor said the people needed more than having infrastructure put in place, but also need a means to take care of themselves. To this effect, he promised to create a ministry of welfare and social infrastructure if elected as president.

He, however, said if he doesn’t win the PDP primaries, he would support any aspirant that emerges the party’s flagbearer to ensure power is wrestled from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I stand here to say you can send me, and if you send me, I will do the needful. Today, I have obtained the form to do so and I know that I will make the difference.

“However, whichever way it goes, the seat is for only one person, about 14 of us already in the race, but without doubt, I stand here to say that I am the first South West man to obtain this form. And I want to say which ever way it goes, the party comes first, we would do whatever the party wants us to do and we would support whoever wins the primary because the important thing is that PDP must win.

“You know me that it is not only creating infrastructure, there will be stomach infrastructure, there will be a minister for stomach infrastructure. When you create stomach infrastructure, human being will enjoy it, a lot of people today need little support to keep hope alive. So, we should expect a minster for welfare and social infrastructure for the ordinary Nigerian,” Fayose said.
