I’ll not engage in frivolous claims regarding my indigenship- Adebutu

The 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu, has said he would not engage in frivolous claims regarding his indigenship.
Adebutu made this known in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Afolabi Orekoya, on Saturday.
It would be recalled that the factional National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Arabambi Abayomi, alleged Adebutu of making false claims of his link with the Egbas in Odeda local government area of Ogun State.
Adebutu explained that his recent celebration of the 92nd remembrance of his great-grandfather, Pa Alimi Adebutu, who lived, died, and was buried in Ijeun Akoni, Odeda Local Government, was undeniable.
He questioned why his family history had become controversial and reaffirmed that he did not fabricate his ties to Ijeun Akoni like others who claim indigenship without proof.
The PDP governorship candidate described Arabambi’s response as “unnecessary and baseless”, suggesting that a proper understanding of his account would have prevented Arabambi’s “misguided” remarks.
