I’m a victim of Ibadan Circular Road project — Adekanmbi

The Allied Peoples Movement governorship candidate in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, has said he is also a victim of the ongoing Ibadan Circular Road project.

Adekanmbi, however, said he would ensure the completion of the project if elected governor in 2027, describing it as important to the development of Ibadan and the state.

He spoke with journalists on Thursday at Thames Hotel, Jericho, in Ibadan North-West Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Adekanmbi said he had a parcel of land in Ona-Ara Local Government Area that was affected by the road construction, adding that some sacrifices were necessary for the development of the state.

“Circular Road is a good concept. I am also a victim. I have land in Ona-Ara which has been affected. To build a society, you have to create access to the society to make it successful,” he said.

The APM candidate promised to continue the construction of the Circular Road and address outstanding issues if elected governor, noting that the project had affected several communities across the state.

Adekanmbi, a former deputy chief of staff and commissioner for finance, said he was not Governor Seyi Makinde’s stooge, describing the governor as one of the most intelligent and cerebral people he had met.

He also said continuity was necessary to move Oyo forward, expressed support for local government autonomy and promised to unveil a manifesto with specific and measurable targets for his first 100 days, six months and one year in office.
