Immigration investigates woman who destroyed husband’s passport at Lagos airport

Following the viral video on social media depicting a female tourist damaging a Nigerian Standard Passport at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has opened an official investigation.
The person in question has been identified as Mrs. Favour Igiebor, whose passport number is A11990869.
The Nigeria Immigration Service’s Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Udo, in press release, said that the Comptroller General of Immigration has ordered Mrs. Favour Igiebor to be invited for questioning.
The statement states that, should the allegations prove true, her actions would violate Section 10(b) of the Immigration Act 2015 (as amended), and that she would be subject to the penalties specified in Section 10(h) of the Act.
Udo restates the Nigeria Immigration Service’s unwavering commitment to enforcing the Immigration Act’s requirements to protect national security and maintain the honor and integrity of the country’s legal framework.
