INEC records 81,393 newly registered voters in kwara

As part of preparations for the forthcoming general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ilorin has registered a total number of 81,393 new voters in kwara State
The exercise which is in line with its Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) programme started in August last year.
According to sources, the current tally of registered voters was updated on the 3rd of April, 2026.
The registration which is in its second phase will have the newly registered voters pick up their cards before the general elections next year.
Addressing the public, the Public Relations Officer of INEC in Kwara state, Mallam Abdulkadir Ibrahim, on Wednesday disclosed that the third phase of the registration will soon commence, revealing that the breakdown comprise 56,775 registrants who completed their registration online and 24,618 who did theirs physically.
He went further to urge unregistered citizens to seize the opportunity to register before the exercise is put on hold.
