The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Tuesday reached out to widows and orphans in Okeagbe Akoko, Ondo State, with scholarships, cash support and work tools to ease their economic burdens.
The outreach, held in the minister’s hometown, was carried out through his representative, Hon. Fafunmilade Adetilewa, who said the initiative was aimed at cushioning the impact of hardship on vulnerable groups and reaffirming the government’s concern for their welfare.
Adetilewa urged Nigerians to remain supportive of leaders at all levels, stressing the need for prayers for Ondo State and the country, as well as for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During the programme, selected orphans were awarded scholarships, while widows received cash grants, industrial machines and other materials to help them start or grow small businesses.

Tunji-Ojo said the Tinubu administration had made visible efforts to deliver on its Renewed Hope agenda, adding that sustained public support would further strengthen governance ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the event, the minister’s mother, Madam Yinka Tunji-Ojo, thanked the people for their continued support, assuring them that her son would continue to prioritise grassroots development and care for the less privileged.
Traditional rulers, including the Owa of Ogbagi Akoko, Oba Victor Adetona, and the Ajana of Afa, Okeagbe Akoko, Oba Mofolorunso Adegboyega Arasanyin, attended the event, as beneficiaries described the intervention as timely and life-changing.
