The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has called on Nigerians to sustain their backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu beyond 2027, stressing the need for continuity in governance and long-term development.

Tunji-Ojo made the appeal during the inauguration of the Bunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO) Campaign Group for Tinubu’s re-election, held in Akungba, Ondo State, where he urged party loyalists to intensify mobilisation efforts at the grassroots.

The minister, who was represented at the event by the chairman of the group in Akoko South West/East Federal Constituency, Abiodun Ogunbi, said the current administration had recorded notable achievements across key sectors of the economy, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration had begun yielding measurable progress in areas such as infrastructure, education, and economic reforms, adding that continuity would help consolidate the gains already made.

According to him, the president had taken bold and necessary steps to stabilise the nation’s economy, insisting that a second term would strengthen ongoing reforms and drive further growth. “You should take the campaign to the grassroots to ensure overwhelming support for the President. Engage people at the unit, ward and local government levels on his achievements,” he said.

Tunji-Ojo further charged members of the group to work diligently to secure a decisive electoral victory, urging them to remain committed to the party’s objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also advised the group to identify and reconcile aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress following recent party congresses, emphasising the importance of unity within the party structure.

In his remarks, Ogunbi commended the minister for his steadfast support for the president and encouraged members to intensify efforts toward building strong grassroots backing for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The event was attended by party leaders and stakeholders from across Ondo State, signalling growing political momentum ahead of the next electoral cycle.
