Ise Orun LG has been overlooked for too long- Owonifari tells Oyebanji

An Ekiti-born envoy, Ambassador Tosin Michael Owonifari, has appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji to extend more development projects to Ise Orun Local Government Area, lamenting what he described as years of neglect despite the community’s loyalty and peaceful disposition.
Owonifari, who serves as the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassador and AU Liaison Officer for the North West, United Kingdom, made the appeal in an open letter addressed to the governor.
He congratulated Governor Oyebanji on his victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary, describing it as a reflection of the people’s confidence in his leadership and performance.
The envoy, however, expressed concern that Ise Orun has not benefited from major infrastructural projects in recent years, citing the absence of new roads, schools, hospitals, and electrification schemes that could improve living conditions in the area.
He also noted that key initiatives such as the proposed College of Agriculture and the Olowe Museum of Art and Heritage in Ise Ekiti have yet to materialise, stressing that their implementation would significantly boost education, tourism, and the local economy.
According to him, Ise Ekiti has the potential to become an agricultural and industrial hub if given adequate government attention.
Owonifari therefore urged Governor Oyebanji to review the state’s development agenda and ensure that Ise Orun is included in future plans for inclusive growth across Ekiti State.
