Itire-Ikate: Apatira lays foundation for construction of ultra-modern Area Office

The Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (IILCDA), Mr Ahmed Apatira, on Wednesday laid the building foundation for the construction of ultra-modern Baruwa Area Office for administrative efficiency.

WesternPost reports that the groundbreaking event was attended by council executive members, community leaders, party leaders, youths, and elders of the council.

Apatira, in his address, said that the building when completed would accommodate both the legislative arm and some administrative units.

The Council Chairman stated that the facilities in the building would be accessible to all interest groups including the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Muslims bodies, youth organisations and the community.

He said that the purpose for the construction was to enhance local government administration, adding that the Councillors would have enough space to attend to their legislative responsibilities.

Apatira said that his administration did not take the welfare of staff for granted, saying that he took staff welfare paramount.

The Council Chairman added ” The building will have open hall which could be used by CAN, Muslim community, youth organisations and the indiegenes for their programmes. It belongs to all bodies. The Councillors will have enough space to attend to their legislative responsibilities and their constituents. The welfare of our staff is paramount to me. We have done so much in that aspect and will continue. This will bring about administrative efficiency and smooth public administration “.

Meanwhile, the Chief Technical Officer of the local government, Engr. Oni Emmanuel, who represented the Council Engineer, Ganiyu Badmus, said the building would be of world class standard.

Emmanuel assured that the materials and the construction would be of quality, adding that all that would be needed would be provided and monitored for efficiency.

Applauding the Council Chairman, the Secretary of the Itire-Ikate Leaders Forum, Prince Francis Fadoju, said that the groundbreaking was historic and that the local government would always remember the Chiarman for the remarkable achievement.

Fadoju said that all what the Council Chairman think about was development of the local government, saying that the leaders were happy with the Chairman for all the achievements so far.
