Despite reaching the Round of 16 at the WTT Frankfurt in Germany, Nigerian table tennis star Aruna Quadri remains in his previous spot in the latest ITTF rankings.
In the tournament, Quadri secured an impressive 3-2 victory over Japan’s Harimoto in the Round of 32 but was later bested by Germany’s Ricardo Walter with the same scoreline.
The ITTF released its updated rankings on Wednesday morning, with Aruna holding onto 21st place with 1405 points. Meanwhile, Egypt’s Omar Assar moved up to 20th with 1408 points, overtaking Aruna by a slim margin.
Next week, Aruna will have another chance to boost his ranking as the competition shifts to Fukuoka, Japan.
