IWD 2022: Aisha Buhari celebrates Nigerian women for breaking barriers
Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has celebrated with Nigerian women on the occasion of the 2022 International Women’s Day.
Posting on her Facebook page, the first lady celebrated Nigerian and indeed African women for “breaking barriers, shattering the glass ceilings and supporting the fight against gender violence and inequality”.
She also called on all women to support and promote gender equality.
“Today is a special day to celebrate women globally. I therefore join the world to celebrate women wherever they are and especially African and Nigerian women for breaking barriers, shattering the glass ceilings and supporting the fight against gender violence and inequality.
“While I encourage all women to promote peace and understanding, I equally enjoin all to support and promote Gender Equality for a sustainable tomorrow,” she wrote.
