Iwo community organises inter-religious prayer for Oyetola’s re-election

Christian and Muslim clerics in Iwo gathered at the Oluwo Palace Square on Sunday for an inter-religious prayer for Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola ahead of the governorship election scheduled for July 16 in the state.

The ceremony which was well attended had in attendance Governor Oyetola, who was represented by Alhaja Giwa; Board Chairman of Federal College of Education Iwo, Alhaji Liad Tella; SA to the Governor on Politics. Alhaji Debo Badru; Member, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Alli Uzamot; chairmen of the three local councils in Iwo; Chief Imam of Iwo land; Alhaji Fatai Olododo; Justice Taofeek Ajeigbe of Osun State judiciary; Asiwaju Musulumi of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiu Onimalu; scores of Islamic clerics; members of Christian Association of Nigeria; high ranking chiefs in Iwo and several other important personalities.

They all prayed for the success of Governor Oyetola in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

In addition, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi after eulogising Oyetola for his remarkable achievements, also emphasised the need for Iwo people to ensure the victory of the governor now so that after his tenure the next governor will come from Iwo.

He advised them not to make mistake of voting any other party that presents candidate from the same Senatorial District with Iwo as that could jeopardise the chances of Iwo producing the next governor come 2026.
