Iwobi on target as Fulham beat Tottenham 2-1
By Tosin Omojola –
Nigerian international Alex Iwobi scored a spectacular goal as Fulham handed Tottenham Hotspur a 2-1 defeat on Sunday evening.
The Super Eagles midfielder found the back of the net to double his side’s lead in the encounter decided at Craven Cottage.
It was the former Arsenal player’s fourth goal of the season.
Harry Wilson had put Fulham ahead, scoring inside seven minutes, before Iwobi doubled the lead just before the half-hour mark with a calm and composed finish.
Spurs pulled one back midway through the second half when substitute Richarlison nodded in from Archie Gray’s cross, but Fulham held on to collect all three points.
The result lifts Fulham to eighth in the table with 40 points, level with Everton, while Tottenham remain 16th in the standings.
