Jide Kosoko explains why Ogogo’s family declined public treatment offers

Nollywood veteran, Jide Kosoko, has explained why his colleague, Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo, cannot be moved to alternative facilities for medical and spiritual assistance despite offers from members of the public.

In a statement shared via his Instagram page on Wednesday, Kosoko appealed to fans, colleagues and well-wishers to continue praying for Ogogo, while expressing gratitude on behalf of the actor’s family and colleagues for the overwhelming support and offers of medical assistance received from the public.

However, he emphasised that Ogogo’s current medical condition makes him unfit to travel from the hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Addressing those who had offered traditional, spiritual or specialised treatments, the actor urged them not to feel offended or disappointed by the family’s inability to take Ogogo to them.

He emphasised that the family’s inability to bring the actor to anyone did not mean that their gestures were not appreciated or that their intentions were doubted.

“On the contrary, we are deeply touched by the overwhelming love and concern that people across the world have shown towards him.

“Therefore, we encourage you to continue doing whatever you can from your respective locations and comfort zones. Keep praying. Keep supporting us. Keep believing with us,” he added.

The statement came amid public concern over the health of the veteran actor after his daughters, Shakira and Haleemah Taiwo, raised an alarm in an emotional video, disclosing that their father was battling stage-four cancer.
