Jonathan not our member, says Bayelsa APC

The Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The state chairman of the party, Dennis Otiotio, in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria said Jonathan was not a registered member of the party.

He, however, said the former president was free to join any party he wanted to join.

“The former president is not yet a registered member of APC. He is free to join any party of his choice.

“We are open and willing to receive him into our fold. As a political party desirous of winning elections, the only way to go is by admitting people into the party,” Otiotio said.

A group had purchased the N100m APC nomination and expression of interest forms for Jonathan ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Jonathan in a statement by his media aide, Ikechukwu Eze, however dissociated himself from the group, calling it an insult.
