Judge orders Nnamdi Kanu out of Abuja Court for disrupting proceedings

-Judgement to be delivered in absentia
Kunle Sanni –
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered security personnel of the Department of State Services to remove the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, from the courtroom for court disruption.
At his resumed trial held on Thursday, Kanu attempted to prevent the judge, Justice James Omotosho, from delivering judgement in one of his pending applications.
The incident occurred when Kanu interrupted proceedings, prompting the judge to direct security operatives to escort him out for what was described as unruly behaviour.
Justice Omotosho subsequently dismissed Kanu’s motion seeking additional time to file his final written address, ruling that the request lacked merit.
Kanu has been in the custody of the DSS since his re-arrest in 2021, facing charges bordering on terrorism and agitation for the secession of the South-East region. His ongoing legal battles have involved multiple applications challenging his detention and the jurisdiction of the court, alongside requests for bail and dismissal of charges.
