Junior Pope: Anambra Police rescues 3 bodies from river

The Marine Police of Anambra State Command has successfully recovered the bodies of the three remaining victims of the recent boat accident that involved late Junior Pope and a movie crew.
According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson of the Anambra State command, two bodies were retrieved on Thursday, with the last one being washed ashore by the tide on Friday.
Ikenga confirmed that all the bodies recovered have been transferred to a hospital mortuary in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.
He added that the President of the Guild of Actors and Actresses has been duly informed about the recovery.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has urged all water commuters to prioritize safety and refrain from actions that could endanger their lives or the lives of others while on water transit.
He has pledged swift investigation into the tragic accident that claimed the lives of five actors.
Furthermore, CP Adeoye has lauded the dedication to duty exhibited by the Command’s Marine Unit and its Commander.
The incident, which occurred two days ago on the River Niger, resulted in the drowning of Pope Odowondo and several other crew members of a movie.
